It doesn't matter how badly my day has gone. There is just something about wonderful kitschy goodness that can turn my entire demeanor around. Currently I am working on redecorating my kitchen into a vintage kitschy kitchen. My inspiration? Vintage fairy tale cartoons and knick knacks. I have cheery brightly colored birds worthy of Cinderella, coo coo clocks, and even a German gingerbread house complete with Hansel, Grettle and the Old Woman. I will be posting pictures shortly of my progress!

Surprise Finds
By day I teach college students the significance of women in American history. When visiting a fellow faculty member I found this hanging in his office. It always surprises me when I find these little injections of vintage that brighten my day. It was a gift from his wife, handmade decades ago. What could be better than a vintage cross stitch with a literary reference?
On top of this vintage awesomeness I scored some amazing vintage Japanese toys that I will be listing over the next few days. Enjoy!

Auction Finds
Last night I visited a local auction house and found some real treasures. The mid century children's portraits pictured above were really beautiful and reminded me of the Royal Tenenbaums. There are infinite forests behind the children if you look carefully. I found some interesting items that I will begin to list over the next few days. But before I do i am off on another vintage adventure...

Fresh Beginnings
With the amount of vintage hunts I have conducted I suppose that it would be natural that I might start my own vintage shop. This blog will act as a journal, a way for me to chronicle and share my vintage adventures, the interesting people I meet along the way, and the fantastic finds that come my way. Agent 137 will serve as my canvas, a place for me to design a vintage collection of kitschy toys and housewares.
It will also act as a place for me to explore my inner vintage dreams. Join me as I redecorate my kitchen and turn it into a 1940s paradise and accept my vintage recipe challenges. There have to be people out there who enjoy vintage goods and the life style as much as I. Enjoy!
